Travel with your lovely pets conveniently and safely with the help of EVs | Lifestyle

Updated: Nov 17, 2022

EVs' unique pet mode and sentry mode will help you travel conveniently and safely.

Traveling with pets also often means inconvenience and it is difficult to better ensure safety when traveling alone. But when you have EVs, these two problems can be solved to a large extent

Pet Mode

More and more car owners prefer travelling with their lovely pets. However, considerable shops, restaurants and public places are not allowed to take the pet inside. Leaving your pet in the car on a hot or cold day in a traditional car is a bad idea because with the window closed too high or too low, temperatures are likely to harm pets and leaving with windows open is not safe. This kind of problem often makes the journey with pets become annoying.

Cheerfully, many car brands such as Ford and Tesla have introduced the pet mode exclusively for EVs and pet mode can ensure your pet can stay safe inside the EVs when the owners leave. Unlike fuel cars, EVs do not require running the engine while using any system in your car because the power is from the built-in battery. The pet mode allows you to set the temperature inside the car just as you would set it at home, and the car will maintain the temperature inside until you return. It doesn't matter whether the cabin needs to be heated or cooled, the car will control the HVAC to keep the vehicle at the selected temperature, and your pets will feel stay just at home!

Besides, EVs do a great job of letting bystanders know that your pets are safe in the car. When pet mode is activated, a message is displayed on the large central screen of the car to let people know that your pets are safe.

Sentry mode

Parking in unfamiliar places is relatively unsafe when travelling, which is also a major problem that plagues many young women and other car owners when they go out alone without anyone taking care of the car.

To solve the problem, many car brands, such as BMW, Tesla, Riviana etc. have already launched the sentry mode (or different names) for EVs to solve this problem. Sentry mode has a similar basic working method to the pet mode, the power from the battery without running the engine.

Sentinel Mode adds a unique layer of protection to EVs by continuously monitoring the environment around the car when left unattended. When enabled, Sentinel Mode uses the EVs exterior cameras to detect potential threats. If a threat is detected, Sentinel mode switches to "alert", activating the car's alarm, and many EVs even play music from the car's audio system at maximum volume to intimidate the threat. At the same time, owners will also receive an alert from the EV notifying them of the situation.
